hello again internets. After spending 2 weeks in rabat i am finally heading home to site for those of you concerned I went to Rabat to get my foot looked at again. both the moroccan specialist and the DC specialist speculate/believe that my stress fracture is a pre-existing condition and possibly something i was born with (???? not to trash/be dubious of medical professionals but seeing as i've never hurt my foot, i've never been a high-impact-sports athlete and 2 months ago i fell, had pain and bruising im pretty sure the pain, bruising and fall had something to do with my current stress fracture) but besides the point. what i had originally anticipated being in rabat for tops 3 days turned into 2 weeks because of appointment scheduling and then my physical therapy. the physical therapy place was really great, super new and fancy and the ladies were wonderful, professional and friendly i definitely felt like i was in good hands.

Being in rabat made me really homesick for site and reminded me a)why you should always over pack and b)why i joined the peace corps. living out of my backpack in a hotel eating out every day reminded me of my days on tour without the work part of it. I realize more and more and the more i'm out of site i really wanted to be in the peace corps to BE somewhere. I've been such a nomad gypsy in my post-college life that Peace Corps is an opportunity for me to be living and participating in a community. I love having my hanut/store guy, my post office guy, my cookies ladies. When you change cities or live in a hotel that's a lot harder to accomplish. Even though my work has sort of petered off to nothing i'm really excited to spend these summer months to get to know my neighbors, hang out with my host family and do more "soft " stuff ie integration and socializing. I'm excited by the prospect. But being in rabat meant that i was able to download all of the new game of thrones episodes which was sort of worth it. Rabat internets are great.

now i'm in ouarzazate meeting all the 15 new volunteers that have joined our little corner of morocco. I've been joking around about how excited i was but i kind of feel like the kid in middle school who has no friends and gets really excited when a new kid comes to school "we're going to be the bestest of friends! and watch movies and paint our toe nails together and have slumber parties and have pillow fights and tea parties and be friends forever and ever!"i'm exaggerating a little but seeing as my site is kind of in the middle of nowhere and no one ever wants to travel over the high atlas mountains to my site (even though it's totally legit for ME TO! gosh!) getting an influx of people that are 1) less then 2 hours from me and 2) a trip that doesn't require me to travel over mountains is both really exciting and full of possibilities. I'm trying to bribe people to come to my site with the promises of watermelon juice, cookies and bracelets. To give you an idea of how mskina (poor pitiful in dirija) my site is and how far away it is i can't barely even convince people in my region to visit me. I'm going to make it happen though.

So long story short dear internets is I am going to only be going online a few times a month, maybe once or twice a week or once every other week. I'm going to play it by ear. For those of you who want to skype with me (and the answer to that should be ALL OF YOU should want to skype with me) so if you do, which i know you do. Either call my moroccan cell phone with your awesome skype subscription and email me with a date/time a week or so ahead and i'll try and make it happen. i'm 5 hours ahead of the east coast for those of you who forgot and if you want my cell phone message me i don't want to put my number on the interwebs.

also now it is officially summer here. holy craponastick it is hot here. so.... don't mail me anything that could potentially melt. that will end poorly for everyone. and be disappointing when it gets here. i'd suggest putting anything you send in a plastic ziplock bag in case disaster strikes. I have some summer related requests that i would completely be enamored with you for.

- a wide strapped tanktop size L-XL (think a wife beater i'm realizing that i don't have any comfy shirts that cover my bra straps and that's an issue here)
-any capri's leggings so i don't have friction on my sweaty thunder thighs.
-GATORADE powder (dear sweet allahbabyjesusbuddah i would love some i live lemon and blue flavored)
-anything that could potentially keep me cool
-compressed air to clean all the dust from the dust storms out of my computer.
-any new music, fancy salty snacks or anything whatsoever.

to be honest though im hoping to send out more letters this summer so if you write me i promise you i'll write you back. hooray!

also here's a parting shot for you all so this isn't a picture-free post

a compilation photo i made while bored on my iphone. me and my gorilla boyfriend, one of my favorite pictures i've ever taken, my pink hair, my room, and the view from my hammock at camp.
